Home Compostable – NF T51-800:2015
Industrial Compostable – AS4736 – EN13432 – ASTM D6400
This means that not only are they lab tested to compost in the correct conditions, as they degrade they will not release any harmful remains that will negatively impact plants and organisms.
These certifications are not cheap and they are not easy to pass, however they stand as proof that a product is compostable and that the claims are internationally accredited.
Most cosmetic packaging is made with petroleum-based plastic. This plastic has been proven in research to leak toxins into your products.
Also, it is known that only 9% of plastic cosmetic packaging is recycled worldwide.

newave formulations do not contain and petroleum-based ingredients. So many expensive brands try and hide these ingredients with words such as “natural” and will not tell you that they are petroleum free. If they don’t say it, then it is reasonable to be concerned their products may contain it.
newave tubes and tubs are also free of petroleum-based plastic and are certified compostable.
Some companies say “compatible to” certain certifications. This is different to certified to and typically means they have never been tested.
This compostable certification means that even in the worst-case scenario for end of life disposal, (landfill) that as they degrade, they will not leak harmful toxins into the environment, soil or water. The certifications are scientific fact for this.
