This is little challenging and so we have chosen not to make no overt branding claims (apart from explaining it a little here).
CLEAN CAN BE ARGUMENTATIVE.
There is no specific or regulated definition of clean.
We believe our product are clean to the best of our research and knowledge.
newave products don’t contain ingredients such as phthalates, FDA prohibited ingredients, colours and any types of added fragrances.
ADDING THINGS?
We understand a lot of products like to smell nice and add colours to look nice.
We know having a scented balm or cream can be nice, however we want to make you the best product without surplus additives that do nothing for your skin.
We don’t mind being different, in fact that’s the point.
We want you to have an alternative to petroleum and plastic.
Many products contain petroleum-based ingredients,
and most are packed in fossil-based plastic.
newave does not contain petroleum-based ingredients
Our tubes and tubs (soon to come) are not made from fossil-based plastic
(they are 95% biobased – as certified by the US Government).
Our products are clean, and our packaging is clean.
Even our mailer bags and labels are certified compostable to
Australian Standards - recognised internationally.
We have worked very hard on our formulations for balms,
body lotion (coming soon) and hand cream (also coming soon)
and enlisted expertise from our production company to
ensure we make clean products.
All this matters because we care who uses newave,
and we know you care about you.
It goes to our saying - Love yourself, love your planet.
As noted, clean extends to our packaging.
Our tubes and tubs contain no fossil-based ingredients
and our additional packaging products
(mailers, labels, hex wrapping paper and tape) are all sustainable.
Our labels, mailers and tape are certified compostable,
and our hex-wrapping paper is made from recycled paper.
When products are certified compostable to Australian Standards
(either home as AS5810 or industrial as AS4736) they pass stringent tests
to ensure no toxicity to plants or organisms.
These tests are performed to the strict standards only by certified laboratories.
We don’t use the term Save the Planet lightly.
When we are healthy, we have a better outlook
and input into making the word better.
The following research released in October 2024 from the United Nations
shows what happens when our wellbeing is sacrificed by cheap and problematic cosmetics.
This research titled – “Medicine, beauty and personal care markets: are women protected from exposure to toxic substances”
says (taken in part only): For example, a review of 362 products for triclosan, parabens, and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals by organizations in eight Asian countries found that many were not labeled fully or accurately, and some contained large amounts of hazardous chemicals.
At the same time, as the Special Rapporteur notes, manufacturing companies selectively fund research that benefits them or manipulate data to downplay the risks associated with their products, thereby misleading the public and authorities and hindering the promotion of safer alternative products.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE
Love yourself, love your Planet.
